Holly Hill resident Sharon Blissett has been named Halifax Health’s Volunteer of the Month for September.

As a member of Halifax Health – Auxiliary, Blissett has volunteered more than 793 hours.  She currently serves as chairperson of Halifax Health Medical Center’s Cardiology and Immediate Care waiting room where she schedules volunteers to staff the desk each week.  In addition, she serves as a patient transporter.

Halifax Health – Auxiliary is a local charitable 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to serve the community through partnership with Halifax Health.  The Auxiliary has been operating since 1932 and serves over 400 volunteer members contributing more than 80,000 hours annually.  Halifax Health – Auxiliary also assists with general fundraising efforts through their Gift Shop, sponsored sales and partnership with First Uniform – the only in-house healthcare apparel and accessory store in the Daytona Beach area.  For information on volunteer opportunities at Halifax Health, call 386.254.4036 or visit halifaxhealth.org/volunteering.
