(December 12, 2016) – William Rushton has been named director of internal audit for Halifax Health.
As director of internal of audit, Rushton oversees healthcare internal audit and risk assurance services and reports directly to the Halifax Health Audit and Finance Committee and administratively to the chief executive officer.
Prior to joining Halifax Health, Rushton served as an audit manager for Ascension Health, the largest non-profit health system in the United States. He began his career at Florida Health Plan Administrators where he developed and directed audit and fraud prevention operations.
Rushton has more than 18 years of experience in healthcare audit. He is a member of The Institute of Internal Auditors and the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati and is a Certified Internal Auditor.
