Halifax Health has been named one of the best places to work for information technology professionals for the second consecutive year by Computerworld – the leading information technology media brand dedicated to being the voice of business technology.

The 2016 Best Places to Work in IT list is compiled by the Computerworld editorial team. This exhaustive list is based on a comprehensive questionnaire focused on organization offerings such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention, as well as a worker satisfaction survey completed by a random sampling of IT employees at the participating organizations. The 100 winning organizations were then categorized by company size based on the number of employees (large, midsize and small).
Halifax Health is ranked second in the list’s Midsize Organization Rankings for companies with 1,001 to 4,999 employees. Last year, Halifax Health ranked tenth in the same category. In addition, Halifax Health ranked highly in career development (#2), retention (#5) and training (#6).

The annual survey highlights symmetry between the benefits that are important to IT employees and what organizations offer. The top five benefits that IT teams most appreciate are health insurance, paid time off, 401k/403b plans or profit sharing, flexible hours, and bonuses. Organizations are aligned, with 100 percent offering health insurance, paid time off and 401k/403b plans, 48 percent profit sharing, 97 percent flexible hours, and 84 percent of organizations have set aside dollars for bonuses for tech employees in 2016.
