UF Health Endocrinology at Halifax Health
Halifax Health has collaborated with University of Florida Health to bring advanced endocrinology to Volusia, Flagler, and Brevard Counties.
Poonam Kapadia, MD
Poonam Kapadia, MD is a board-certified Internist with specialty training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She was raised in Orlando, Florida and completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with honors and a double major in Biology and Anthropology.
Doctor Kapadia went on to earn her medical degree from the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida and completed her Internship in Internal Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Kapadia completed her Internal Medicine training at the University of Central Florida and then pursued a two year fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism with the University of Florida in Jacksonville.
Dr. Kapadia only sees patients who are 18 years old or older.
Dr. Kapadia provides comprehensive clinical care covering all the major fields of endocrinology on an outpatient basis, including:
- Adrenal Disorders
- Pituitary Disorders
- Diabetes and Related Complications
- Diseases and Disorders of the Thyroid
- Thyroid Nodules and Tumors
- Lipid Disorders
- Parathyroid and Calcium Disorders
- Transgender Medicine
The Endocrinology services opened on Monday, November 2, 2020, in temporary offices. In the second quarter of 2021, Kapadia will move to be a part of the new 2,800-square-foot Lohman Diabetes Center of Excellence at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. The Center of Excellence will be located in the renamed Lohman Professional Building.
