Feezor Joins UF Health Heart and Vascular Surgery Program at Halifax Health

(December 12, 2016) – Award-winning vascular surgeon Robert J. Feezor, MD, FACS has joined the University of Florida Heart and Vascular Surgery program at Halifax Health.

Dr. Feezor is an associate professor of surgery in the division of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy at the University of FloridaCollege of Medicine.  He is board-certified in general surgery and vascular surgery.

Prior to joining UF Health Heart and Vascular Surgery at Halifax Health, he practiced at UF Health in Gainesville for eight years.  During this time, he served as program director for the vascular fellowship program, as well as director for the UF Health Comprehensive Vein Center.  He was awarded the national Resident Award for Exemplary Teaching by the American College of Surgeons in 2005, the Hugh M. Hill Award for outstanding resident teacher in the College of Medicine in both 2005 and 2006, and the Outstanding Faculty Award in 2010.

A graduate of Davidson College in North Carolina, Dr. Feezor attended medical school at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.  He completed his general surgery residency at UF, during which he completed a National Institutes of Health-funded T32 research fellowship in trauma and burns.  He later served as administrative chief resident and then transitioned to the vascular surgery fellowship program.

Dr. Feezor’s clinical interests include open surgical and endovascular treatment of aortic diseases, peripheral and visceral occlusive disease and dialysis access creation and maintenance.
