(December 16, 2016) – Astrid Gonzalez-Parrilla, OTD, OTR/L, MBA, FACHE has been named the executive director of Rehabilitation Services for Halifax Health|Brooks Rehabilitation Center for Inpatient Rehabilitation.
In this role, Gonzalez-Parrilla will provide leadership, direction and management for the Halifax Health|Brooks Rehabilitation Center for Inpatient Rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation centers, as well as Halifax Health acute care rehabilitation therapy services.
Gonzalez-Parrilla comes to Halifax Health after a 14-year career with Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Meyers, Florida where she began as a staff occupational therapist. In 2014, she was promoted to director of quality and education where she was accountable for developing quality, safety and patient experience initiatives across the Lee Memorial Health System post-acute divisions.
A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Science Campus, she earned a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia Southern University in 2011 followed by a doctorate in occupational therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Care Professions in 2014.
She is board certified as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities surveyor and a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, National Association for Healthcare Quality and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
