DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (March 22, 2018) – Irene Connelly and Denise Chubin have been named the Joe Petrock Auxiliary Volunteers of the Month for February and March 2018 by the Halifax Health – Auxiliary.
A Daytona Beach resident, Connelly is the Volunteer of the Month for February 2018. An Auxiliary member since 1993, she has provided more than 22,500 volunteer hours at Halifax Health. Through the years she has volunteered in several departments, but currently serves in the Employee Health Department at Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach. A nonagenerian, Connelly volunteers several days a week and is known for greeting employees seeking Employee Health services with a bright “Irish smile.”
Denise Chubin of Daytona Beach Shores is the Volunteer of the Month for March 2018. Since 2015, Chubin and her pet Mugsy have been invaluable members of the Auxiliary’s therapy dog program. She and Mugsy visit patients each Tuesday in the adult behavioral services, pediatrics, and rehabilitation units, as well as other areas of the hospital as needed. Together, they have volunteered more than 400 service hours at Halifax Health.
Halifax Health – Auxiliary is a local charitable 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to serve the community through partnership with Halifax Health. The Auxiliary has been operating since 1932 and serves over 400 volunteer members contributing more than 80,000 hours annually.
