On September 26, Halifax Health – Auxiliary, Inc. held its annual meeting at the Palmetto Women’s Club in Daytona Beach where the volunteer group made a check presentation, donating $100,000 to the hospital’s charitable foundation.
“We are thankful for this generous donation which was raised from the auxiliary’s hard work throughout the year, including hosting book, jewelry and cookware fundraisers,” says Joe Petrock, executive director, Halifax Health – Foundation. He adds, “This donation will go towards helping Halifax Health serve the healthcare needs of our community.”
Also during the banquet, Halifax Health – Auxiliary officers were installed to serve a one-year term, beginning October 1, 2015. The auxiliary’s new officers include: Linda Trader, president; Liz Dusz, first vice president; Tammy Collins, second vice president; John Smith, recording secretary; Rosanne Smith, corresponding secretary; Daphne Sapp, treasurer; and Mary Yeager, assistant treasurer.
Halifax Health – Auxiliary was established in 1932. This past year, the volunteer group has donated more than 82,855 hours of service to Halifax Health. In addition, the group recently purchased new courtesy carts for the community hospital system valued at $35,000.
