DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (August 11, 2020) – Ivy Garcia, M.D., board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation,  has joined the team at Halifax Health|Brooks Rehabilitation – Center for Rehabilitation.

A graduate of the Universidad Autonoma De Centro America in San Jose, Costa Rica, Dr. Garcia completed an internship at Ponce University Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico.  She later completed residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Kansas University Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kansas. Dr. Garcia went on to become medical director of both the Kansas Medical Center Inpatient Unit, as well as the Consult Service and received the Faculty Award of Excellence from the University of Kansas Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.

Dr. Garcia is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Ivy Garcia, MD will be joining Jorge Perez, MD and Meghan Cochrane, MD at Halifax Health | Brooks Rehabilitation – Center for Inpatient Rehabilitation, a 40-bed state-of-the-art inpatient rehabilitation center. As a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, Dr. Garcia will be evaluating patients and designing comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans for patients, that will maximize their function and quality of life.
