Halifax Health – Hospice seeks caring, supportive and dedicated volunteers to provide assistance in the Southeast Volusia area.

At Halifax Health – Hospice Care Centers, volunteers can choose to help prepare meals; socialize with patients and families; or serve as a receptionist answering phones and greeting visitors.  Those who can sew and quilt are needed as well, along with those who can assist with clerical duties, including data entry.  Licensed massage therapists, cosmetologists, pet therapists, artists and veterans who would like to donate their time and services are welcome.

Halifax Health – Hospice also seeks volunteers who can visit patient and nursing homes or assisted living facilities to socialize and provide respite for caregivers, or be part of our No One Dies Alone program.  There is also opportunity for our volunteers at our Resale Shop, or our Children’s GriefCenter.

Those interested need to attend two curriculums being held on Thursday April 7 – Curriculum I (1 p.m.-4:30 p.m.); Thursday, April 21 – Curriculum II (12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.) at the SoutheastVolusiaCareCenter, 4140 S. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater.   For additional information, contact Tammy Dunn, Halifax Health – Hospice Volunteer Department, at 386.425.4701 ext. 66127 or tammy.dunn@halifax.org
