DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (August 9, 2019) – Halifax Health – Hospice will host the 18th Annual 5K Run & Walk – Celebrating the Spirit of Caregiving on Saturday, September 7 at the Kenneth W. Parker Amphitheater, 2001 City Center Circle in Port Orange beginning at 8:00 am. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Halifax Health – Hospice Family Caregiver Program. The event is powered by Dale’s Shoes and Heritage Waterside Luxurious Senior Living.
Race day activities include the 5K Run & Walk which begins at 8:00 am, a Kiddie Fitness Zone at 8:15 am for children 10 years of age and younger and a Veterans Community Pinning after the race. The 5K Run & Walk is part of the Live Your Life Well Series and Daytona Running Series and will be professionally timed.

All participants are encouraged to register early. To register online, or to print a mail-in application, go to halifaxhealth.org/hospice/5K. Online registration ends on September 5. Pre-registration and packet pick-up will take place at the Halifax Health-Hospice Port Orange Care Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, on September 6 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Race day begins with registration at 6:30 a.m.
Early registration fees for the 5K Run & Walk are $30 through August 23. Registration fees increase August 24 through September 5 to $35. Registration on the day of the event is $40. Children 12 and under receive a free registration with a paid adult registration, limit one per adult.
Those who register early will receive t-shirts and goodie bags, while supplies last. Shirts and bags are not guaranteed to participants who register on race day. Post-race refreshments and snacks will be served.
