DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (February 19, 2019) – For the second consecutive year, Halifax Health has been named the title sponsor of the Swings for DONNA charity golf event benefiting The DONNA Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Donna Deegan in 2003 with the mission to provide financial assistance and support to those living with breast cancer and fund groundbreaking breast cancer research. This year’s event will take place Thursday, February 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Sugar Mill Country Club, 100 Club House Circle, New Smyrna Beach.
“Halifax Health is proud to be a part of this very important annual event that provides much-needed financial support and assistance to women in Volusia and Flagler counties living with breast cancer. Last year, approximately 62 local breast cancer patients received critical care debt relief thanks to the DONNA Foundation,” explains Ann Martorano, chief communications officer for Halifax Health and a committee member of this year’s Swings for Donna Charity Event.
The 2nd Annual Swings for Donna Charity Event will feature a four-person scramble format golf tournament hosted by The Women’s Golf Associations of Sugar Mill. Tee times are slated for 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. After the tournament, the Pink Cocktail Par-Tee will take place at the main clubhouse at Sugar Mill Country Club. This lively, evening affair will feature prizes, raffles and live auctions. Last year, Sugar Mill Country Club raised more than $55,000 during its inaugural Swings for Donna event.
Sponsorship packages are still available for this year’s event. For more information visit www.swingsfordonna.com. To learn more about The DONNA Foundation or to learn how to receive assistance, visit www.thedonnafoundation.org.
