Halifax Health Observes National Donate Life Month

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (April 5, 2017) – On April 4, Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach joined health organizations nationwide in observing National Donate Life Month.

A special Flag Raising Ceremony, a Donate Life America initiative which honors and celebrates the hundreds of thousands of donors and recipients whose lives have been affected by organ, eye and tissue donation, was held on April 4.  Speakers included a family member of a donor as well as a kidney transplant recipient who gave a touching testimonial about the exceptional care he received from the Halifax Health – Center of Transplant Services.

Halifax Health Medical Center will fly the Donate Life flag through the end of the month. In addition, the hospital will be lit green in the evenings throughout the month in observance.

Also, on April 21, hospital staff will distribute blue and green carnations to visitors, staff and patients to commemorate National Donate Life Blue & Green Day to further spread awareness.
