Halifax Health has opened an ophthalmology practice offering comprehensive eye care at 517 North Clyde Morris Boulevard in Daytona Beach.  The practice is led by Nishita Patel, M.D., chief of ophthalmology for Halifax Health.

Halifax Health – Ophthalmology offers an array of eye care services, including routine eye examinations and surgical procedures to treat or cure common, rare and complex eye conditions.  Patients can experience expert care for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, macular degeneration and other eye diseases that occur inside the eye and related to nerves within the eye.  Halifax Health – Ophthalmology also offers vision care that includes regular checkups and lens prescriptions.

A graduate of Florida State University College of Medicine, Dr. Patel completed her internship at Orlando Regional Medical Center and her ophthalmology residency at Yale University School of Medicine.  She specializes in comprehensive eye care and cataract and lens implant surgery.

Dr. Patel serves as a clinical instructor for Florida State University College of Medicine.  She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cornea and Refractive Surgery.
