Halifax Health Promotes Shiflet to VP, Chief Compliance Officer

Shelly Shiflet, former assistant general counsel for Halifax Health, has been promoted to vice president and chief compliance officer for the 678-bed community hospital system. In her new role, she reports directly to Halifax Health President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Feasel.
 
“While at Halifax Health, Shelly has provided us counsel on legal issues and complex compliance issues and we look forward to her continued leadership and experience in this position,” Feasel says. 
 
Shiflet has been a Halifax Health employee since 2007. She began her career at Halifax Health as collections counsel and was soon promoted to assistant general counsel. Most recently, she served as interim general counsel and was instrumental in the compliance arena.
 
Prior to joining Halifax Health, Shiflet worked as manager of compliance and managed care for MedOasis in Asheville, North Carolina. She was also a research assistant at Western North Carolina University where she earned a Master in Business Administration in 2003. Shiflet has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Brevard College in North Carolina and a Juris Doctor from the Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida.
