DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (September 25, 2018) – Halifax Health, in partnership with Tanger Outlets Daytona Beach, the Volusia Flagler Family YMCA and Runner’s High Timing and Race Management, will present the inaugural Pink Tutu 3K on Sunday, October 14 at Tanger Outlets, 1100 Cornerstone Boulevard in Daytona Beach. Final registration packet pick-up begins at 6:30 a.m., followed by a Gentle Yoga Warm Up. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. Pre-race festivities will kickoff at Tanger Outlets with the Pink Style Party on Saturday, October 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Held in recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Pink Tutu 3K run/walk will be timed and offers an opportunity for both competitive and non-competitive runners, walkers, families and children to participate. Halifax Health and the American Cancer Society of Volusia-Flagler will sponsor the registration for 100 cancer survivors to participate in the race event.
Race packet pick-up for those who register early takes place Saturday, October 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Tanger Outlets during a special Pink Style Party featuring a live DJ, Yoga on the Lawn each hour with Andrea Beck of Kula Yoga Studios, family activities, a performance by Kinetic Expressions Dance Academy, face painters, chance drawings and much more. Race packet pick up will also be available beginning at 6:30 a.m. the day of the race.
Refreshments will be provided to participants following the race. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony at the start/finish line near H&M.
Registration for the race is $25 and includes a Pink Tutu 3K t-shirt and a Tanger Outlets PINKStyle Savings Card that provides discounts at over 45 retail stores. The discounts are for 25 percent off any one item, per day, per participating store. In addition, there will be promotional giveaways provided by participating Tanger retailers.
Children 12 years and younger can participate in the race free of charge with a paid adult entry. Participating pets must be on a leash.
Awards will be given in the following categories: top overall male and female, top male and female (masters), and the top three male and female finishers in each age group (14 and younger, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 64-69, 70-74, and 75 and older).
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Halifax Health – Foundation’s Center for Oncology Fund and the American Cancer Society of Volusia – Flagler.
