Hunt Named Director of Local Government Affairs and Community Relations for Halifax Health

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (February 14, 2018) – Joni Hunt, a public affairs expert with 10 years of experience, has been named the director of local government affairs and community relations for Halifax Health.

In this role, Hunt serves as a liaison between Halifax Health and local elected officials, civic organizations, educational institutions and the business community to promote the community health system’s services and priorities as well as its commitment and benefit to the communities it serves.

Hunt’s prior experience includes serving as the director of government relations for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and most recently, the director of public and government affairs at Florida Hospital – East Central Florida Region.

Hunt is an alumna of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration and a Master of Aeronautical Science.  In 2017, she was designated a professional lobbyist by the Florida Association of Professional Lobbyists.

An Ormond Beach resident, her civic involvement includes the Boys and Girls Club of Volusia-Flagler, Checkered Flag Committee of Daytona International Speedway, the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce, Civic League of the Halifax Area, Halifax Habitat for Humanity, Leadership Florida, MyRegion.org Board of Advisors, Ormond Memorial Art Museum, Rotary Club of Daytona Beach, and the Tiger Bay Club of Volusia County.

In 2016, Hunt was honored by the ArtHaus Foundation of Port Orange and was named an “Influential Woman in Business” by the Daytona Beach News-Journal.
