Halifax Health is the only hospital in Volusia & Flagler counties that has an OB/GYN Hospitalist Program on-site 24/7. Through the OB Hospitalist Group (OBHG), the largest dedicated OB/GYN hospitalist provider, Halifax Health has board-certified OB/GYNs on-site to provide care for all expectant mothers 24/7.
In the event that your physician is not available, the OB/GYN hospitalists can examine and evaluate the progress of your labor, review test results and fetal heart rate tracings, stay on top of any problems that may be evolving, and provide you and your baby with a safe delivery, while working closely and communicating with your physician.
In the regrettable absence of your physician, you can rest assured that the OB/GYN hospitalist can provide medical expertise and optimal care, as well as answer any questions you or a family member may have.
As we all know, there can be changes in your care as an obstetrical patient. If an emergency occurs, the OB/GYN hospitalist is available, and ready to respond. Our hospitalists are highly skilled in a variety of different delivery techniques. They are required to maintain high levels of clinical performance and professional standards. In addition to board certification for OB/GYN, our hospitalists are required to have additional specialized training in the management of obstetrical patients.
You want the best care for you and your baby. Your physician will make sure the OB/GYN hospitalist has your complete medical record and birth plan. The OB/GYN hospitalist caring for you in your physician’s absence will make sure that a complete report comes to your physician about everything that has happened in the hospital. Everyone at Halifax Health – Center for Women & Infant Health, including your nurses, physician, and the OB/GYN hospitalist team, has your safety and your baby’s health as their most important priority.
At Halifax Health, we are ready for every situation, especially the ones that you are not planning on. Having an OB Hospitalist Group on-site 24/7 has saved the lives of mothers and babies because even the most normal pregnancy can turn into an emergency. Sometimes, you don’t have minutes to spare.
