National Day of Remembrance Ceremony presented by Halifax Health – Hospice Traumatic Loss Program and the Victims’ Services Coalition of the 7th Judicial Circuit

DETAILS:
The Halifax Health – Hospice Traumatic Loss Program in collaboration with the Victims’ Services Coalition of the 7th Judicial Circuit annually observe the National Day of Remembrance with a special ceremony in honor of the victims and survivors of homicide and traumatic loss as a way for survivors and loved ones to remember, reflect and heal.
Local victims of homicide or traumatic loss will be acknowledged during the ceremony. The family members or loved ones of victims who are present at the event will be invited to read their names.
The commemorative ceremony will conclude on the beach and can also be viewed from the deck. Those attending should wear comfortable shoes and attire.
Participants are encouraged to bring a 5×7-inch or smaller unframed picture to place on the Wall of Remembrance during the ceremony. All pictures will be returned.
Participants are also invited to decorate and add a commemorative rock to the Healing Hearts River of Rocks at the Halifax Health – Hospice Port Orange Care Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange. Rocks should be approximately 3×6 inches in size and decorated using waterproof acrylic paint and permanent markers.
