DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (February 17, 2020) – Diana Sanford of Daytona Beach and Ron Hanson of Ormond Beach have been named the Joe Petrock Auxiliary Volunteers of the Month for January and February 2020, respectively, by the Halifax Health-Auxiliary.

Diana Sanford has been a Halifax Health volunteer since January 2005.  A long-time volunteer in the hospital’s gift shop, she has donated more than 2,173 service hours.

“In addition to providing optimum customer service to our fellow team members and visitors shopping in the gift shop, Diana goes above and beyond her routine tasks,” explains Paul Thompson, gift shop manager.  Thompson adds, “Diana serves as our lead display artist and uses her artistic talent each week to arrange key merchandise display areas in the store.  Her creative merchandise displays, including her most recent Christmas displays, have drawn many compliments from customers and passersby.”

A volunteer since December 2017, Ron Hanson has donated more than 866 hours of service to Halifax Health as a courtesy cart driver and an information desk greeter.

“Ron’s warm personality puts visitors at ease, especially after visiting a loved one.  He is always willing to fill in for others, working many extra shifts.  We are fortunate to have such a dedicated volunteer,” says Cynthia Rose, president, Halifax Health – Auxiliary.

Along with the honor of being named Volunteers of the Month, Sanford and Hanson each received a gift card and are nominees for the auxiliary’s Volunteer of the Year award.
