Our Hospitalists
At Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach, Halifax Health – Medical Center of Port Orange and Halifax Health | UF Health – Medical Center of Deltona, our team of hospitalists are here 24 hours a day, seven days a week as an extension of your family doctor and/or specialists that care for you.
When you get admitted to the hospital, your private physician isn’t always available to be at the hospital when you are. That can be unsettling and frightening for many. We want to assure you that we have expert, in-house physicians, called hospitalists, to coordinate your care with your personal doctor. Our hospitalists are here to provide efficiency in your care, oversee patient safety and they have access to more specialized and coordinated care when needed. Our hospitalists have expertise in caring for complicated hospitalized patients on a daily basis and are available to meet with you and your family to answer questions and discuss your care plan, as well as follow up on tests and any other issues that could arise during a hospital stay.
Your hospitalists “office” is in the hospital so navigating your care is a very familiar process for them, which makes things go smoother for you. We practice open and ongoing communication with your primary care doctor and other specialists who have been overseeing your care.
