Lung Screening

Life-Saving Lung Cancer Screening

Halifax Health offers a low-cost, life-saving lung cancer screening option for $125*.

The Low Dose CT lung scan provides early detection of lung cancer, even if you may not have any symptoms. Studies show that Low Dose CT scans are more effective at detecting cancerous lung masses than standard radiographic chest x-rays. Therefore, this screening technique, along with physician recommendations and treatment, can reduce the risk of death from lung cancer – the number one cause of cancer-related deaths among men and women in the nation.

*Low Dose CT lung scan may be covered by insurance. If not, out-of-pocket cost is only $125.

Don’t be Afraid. Get Screened.

Halifax Health understands that lung cancer is not something to take lightly, and is frightening or alarming if it were to happen to you or a loved one. However, there is hope, if caught early in stage 1 and treated, the ten-year survival rate may be as high as 92 percent vs.15 percent in late stage.** Waiting for symptoms to occur can be deadly as symptoms are an indicator of lung cancer in the late stages of the disease. This makes the treatment more problematic and reduces the overall survival rate.

As your community hospital, Halifax Health is committed to helping Volusia County become healthier. Currently, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in our county.

Let us help break this cycle by empowering our community with the tools to change this statistic. Let us help you and your loved ones find lung cancer in its earliest stage so we can help treat and overcome it – together.
