Marc  suffered from his first heart attack about 10 years ago. After that, he suffered from a heart attack every year for the next eight years. On heart attack number nine, Marc was determined to do something about it.

Through his cardiologist’s recommendation, Marc was referred to Dr. Sohit Khanna, a cardiothoracic surgeon through the UF Health Heart & Vascular Surgery Program at Halifax Health. Dr. Khanna indicated that Marc was a candidate for off-pump heart bypass surgery – an advanced procedure that does not involve the heart-lung bypass machine.

Marc underwent the surgery and his outcome has been amazing. Due to the major benefits of off-pump heart bypass surgery, he was able to get home after surgery on day three, and by week seven, he was out on the golf course taking some shots and putting.

He is very grateful for the care he received from UF Health Heart & Vascular Surgery at Halifax Health.
