Halifax Health Port Orange Emergency Department has received top-rated patient satisfaction from the Port Orange community for over 15 years. With access to over 500 physicians and over 550 years of combined nursing experience, we offer the highest level of care for you and your family.

With 80 beds, onsite laboratory services, advanced imaging, OR suites and an intensive care cnit, our emergency department is equipped to handle your unexpected medical emergencies.

Halifax Health Emergency Department of Deltona provides the greater Four Towns area of West Volusia County with 24-hour emergency care. We offer care for a range of injuries and sicknesses, including treatment for high fever, heart attack and stroke.

Our Deltona doctors, nurses and staff are trained to deliver exceptional care in emergency situations.

The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with a total of 16 beds. Highly-trained emergency physicians and nurses treat most emergencies on-site.

The OB Emergency Department at Halifax Health is proud to be the area’s first and only OB Emergency Department and have partnered with the OB Hospitalists Group (OBHG), the largest OB/GYN hospitalist provider.

OB/GYN Hospitalist Program Advantages

Our OB Emergency Department (OBED)—is open for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your private physician knows that our team will be available around the clock when you need us, ready to respond. In the event your private OB/GYN physician may not available, our OB/GYN physicians can examine you, evaluate the progress of your labor, review test results and fetal heart rate tracings, and stay on top of any issues that may be developing and provide you and your baby with a safe delivery, while working closely and communicating with your physician. They can answer any questions you or your family may have.

Halifax Health – Pediatric Emergency Department is here to ensure that our youngest patients have access to the best possible care when they need it most. Featuring twelve private rooms and a pediatric resuscitation room, the Pediatric Emergency Department is staffed with board-certified emergency pediatricians, trauma surgeons, emergency department physicians and intensivists who have been specially trained to care for pediatric patients. We provide specialized emergency care with a seamless transition of care to pediatric acute care. Our team is ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit
Halifax Health has the area’s ONLY Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit dedicated to the treatment of children that require the highest level of medical attention and care. Our team of experts specialize in pediatric care and are focused on providing the highest level of care for your child.

Speediatrics Pediatric Inpatient Unit
Halifax Health - Betty Jane France Center for Pediatrics is a 26-bed pediatric unit designed with the whole family in mind. Our Speediatrics Unit cares for more than 2,000 children each year and works with community partners, like NASCAR Foundation, to provide positive and memorable experiences for children and families in our care.

When it comes to emergency situations involving trauma, look to the towers for the highest level of care. As the area’s only Level II trauma center, our trauma care team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Halifax Health has collaborated with University of Florida Health (UF Health) to bring the highest level of care to Volusia County with a team of highly-skilled trauma surgeons. The UF Health Trauma Surgery Team at Halifax Health covers three essential areas of patient care: trauma surgery, surgical critical care and emergency surgery. Our surgeons play a critical role in saving lives and are surrounded by a team of trusted and caring physicians, experienced nurses and staff.

Our Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center (TSC) certification from The Joint Commission, in collaboration with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, signifies that Halifax Health meets rigorous standards for performing mechanical endovascular thrombectomy (EVT), a specialized surgical procedure used to remove a blood clot from the brain during an ischemic stroke.
