Rachel Cohen-Shohet, MD is a board-certified and fellowship trained Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon at UF Health Halifax in Daytona Beach, FL.

Dr. Cohen-Shohet graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Mathematics at the University of Florida. She went on to continue her education at UF Health, obtaining a Doctorate of Medicine and then completing her residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. While there, she was inducted into the AOA medical honors society and was selected for the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Cohen-Shohet then elected to pursue a Hand fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI, where she received additional training in complex hand, wrist and peripheral nerve pathologies.

Dr. Cohen-Shohet has authored many peer-reviewed articles within the specialties of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery. She continues to present at national surgical society meetings. She has a special interest in oncologic reconstruction, extremity salvage and reconstruction, microsurgery, hand arthritis, peripheral nerve compression and aesthetic surgery.

For Dr. Cohen-Shohet, building a lasting relationship with the patient is the most rewarding part of a surgical practice. Her primary goal is to achieve the highest level of results so that each patient may have an aesthetic and functional outcome.
