Life Saving Careers

We’re glad you’re here. As a cornerstone of our community, we need strong, compassionate, and talented medical professionals just like you. Our team works together to ensure that families receive the highest-quality care, in a pleasant setting where they feel valued.

As the area’s only Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care program, Pediatric Emergency Department, OB Emergency Department, Child and Adolescent Behavioral Services, and comprehensive Neurosurgical Services, Halifax Health is a dynamic organization that offers many unique opportunities.

What We Offer

Many organizations pride themselves in having friendly, family-like cultures. However, not many can say that over 100 of their employees have worked for their organization for over 35 years. That speaks volumes to the commitment and dedication of the Team Members of Halifax Health.

Being a part of the Halifax Health team is like a tradition for many employees. The people at Halifax Health are more than just co-workers, they are like family. All of our Team Members have a purpose for being here which is helping to serve the people in our community.

As the area’s only Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care program, Pediatric Emergency Department, OB Emergency Department, Child and Adolescent Behavioral Services, and comprehensive Neurosurgical Services, Halifax Health is a very dynamic organization that offers many unique opportunities.

These are just a few reasons why Halifax Health is continually recognized as a leading employer; in fact we’ve been awarded the Corporate Champion of the Year and received top designation from Orlando Sentinel’s Top 100 Companies for Working Families in Central Florida.

At Halifax Health, we believe in developing a diverse group of talented healthcare professionals who have a passion for serving the local community. We take great pride in celebrating our Team Members for their unique personalities and contributions, both inside and outside the hospital. And while their individuality sets them apart, collectively we share core values and a common purpose of exceptional service, every encounter, every day to everyone.

Our mission is to be the community healthcare leader through exceptional talent and superior patient centered service delivered in a financially sustainable manner, delivering exceptional service, every encounter, every day to everyone. Our culture of caring is reflected by every Team Member through the way we think, the way we work and the way we care.

Our Quality Standards of Safety, Compassion, Image, and Efficiency are our guidelines for obtaining an honest, ethical, and positive work environment. Each member of our team is responsible for helping Halifax Health to maintain the highest standards of excellence and citizenship by championing the success of our patients, visitors, and staff. Our Team Members serve as the foundation upon which Halifax Health is built.

In Volusia County, the average temperature is 81 degrees in the summer and 62 degrees in the winter. With famous attractions and many beautiful beaches, Daytona Beach is a well-known destination for vacationers and those seeking a warm, tropical lifestyle.

The Deltona-Daytona-Ormond Metropolitan Area had a 2006 population of 496,575. Daytona Beach alone has a population of 64,421. Those who choose to make their home in Daytona Beach will enjoy a comparatively lower cost of living while still living in convenient proximity to the goods and services of a metropolitan area.

Lifestyle

Home to the headquarters of NASCAR, the International Speedway Corporation, and the LPGA, Daytona Beach is a favored getaway for weather chasers and vacationers. World-famous events such as Speedweeks, Bike Week, and Biketoberfest draw huge crowds of fans and tourists every year. Although the Daytona 500 is no longer held on the sand, visitors are still permitted to drive directly onto “the World’s Most Famous Beach,” making it appealing and convenient for families. For year-round residents there are excellent restaurants, shopping centers, movie theaters, and museums.

All 23 miles of beach in Volusia County are surfer-friendly, but locals know the best waves are found at Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna Beach. Driving is permitted on Daytona Beach from sunrise to sunset, except during sea-turtle nesting season, when the beach is closed to traffic to permit these endangered sea creatures to lay their eggs and safely return to the water.

Arts

Daytona Beach boasts a rich history showcased by places like the Halifax Historical Museum and the Museum of Arts and Sciences. It also has a strong tradition of celebrating fine and performing arts with events throughout the year, such as the Halifax Art Festival, Daytona Winterfest, Florida International Festival (featuring the London Symphony Orchestra), and the Summer Concert Series at the oceanfront Bandshell.

Schools

Volusia County schools are rated among the best in the state.

Attractions

A short trip down I-95 brings visitors to Kennedy Space Center; I-4 leads to major attractions in Orlando including family attractions at Disney World, Sea World, Discovery Cove, shopping at the Mall at Millennia, and the night life of Church Street. Busch Gardens Africa, historic Ybor City, and the Florida Aquarium are all located in nearby Tampa.

Visit the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce website.
