Typically, a participant receives an assessment from a physical therapist, who develops a customized exercise and fitness plan to maintain activity and mobility. Specific times at the local YMCAs are dedicated for the wellness program to ensure that participants can exercise in a safe and comfortable environment. These programs are supervised by specialized staff who understand the unique challenges of a life-altering disease or injury.
