Dr. Alexis Flynn-Hanlon was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida. Growing up with an older brother who has Down syndrome, she developed a passion for addressing health inequity. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science with a minor in Health Disparities from the University of Florida, where she also obtained her medical doctorate.
Her interest in health disparities fueled her passion for rural medicine and low-resource settings, ultimately drawing her to Family Medicine due to its focus on forming lasting patient relationships. She is eager to join the Halifax Health team and improve health outcomes in Daytona Beach.
Professionally, she is interested in rural medicine, lifestyle medicine, dermatology, women’s health, and health advocacy. Outside of medicine, she enjoys gardening, hiking, video games, tabletop games with her husband, and spending time with her family and her dog, Copper.
