Allyssa Dunn was born in Chino Hills, CA. She grew up enjoying sports and competed in Junior Olympic Softball for 10 years. Upon graduating from high school, she moved to North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Prior to attending medical school at Howard University, she volunteered as a City Year AmeriCorps member where she worked as a mentor and tutor in an underserved elementary school in Washington, DC. During medical school she served as the Secretary of the Family Medicine Interest Group. She enjoyed volunteering at the free clinic and later served as Volunteer Training Chair on the Board. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society during her junior year. Within Family Medicine she is interested in Women’s Health and Health Disparities. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing on the couch, bowling, and being outside with her daughter and husband.
