The role of the Rehabilitation Oncology Patient Navigator is to detect, mitigate, and help treat the functional decline of cancer patients. As part of the oncology treatment team, this healthcare professional is an advocate for patients who are candidates for rehabilitation.
Neuropathy that limits activity or impairs balance
Falling or difficulty walking
Difficulty with dexterity or coordination
Lymphedema
Muscle, joint, or other pain that limits activity
Difficulty swallowing or speaking
Long-term side effects from radiation
Difficulty with any normal activities of daily living
