Dr. Burns graduated with his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in biology and a minor in business from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). He furthered his studies while in Fort Lauderdale, graduating from the Dr. Kiran C Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine at NSU. He tutored for the medical education department during medical school and plans to continue teaching and mentoring in academic medicine. Dr. Burns has a passion for rural and underserved medicine, caring for patients at rural clinics in Guatemala and Tanzania. Dr. Burns is a Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) by the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice.
Dr. Burns grew up as the middle of five siblings in Orlando, FL. During his childhood, he enjoyed swimming competitively and gained an appreciation for service and the outdoors as an Eagle Scout. Outside of medicine, he enjoys the outdoors and likes cycling, walking his dog, and running at the beach.
