D. Scott Covington, MD, FACS, CWS-P, FACCWS

A general surgeon with over 30 years of clinical wound care experience, Dr. Covington speaks throughout the U.S. and internationally on wound care and hyperbaric medicine. He has served as an advisor to both industry and governmental agencies on wound-related issues and opportunities. Additionally, he has trained thousands of physicians and nurses on the fundamentals of wound care and hyperbaric medicine as a Director of Wound Care Education.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Covington completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He trained at the University of Texas (Houston) in general surgery. In addition, he completed the Thomas G. Cronin Fellowship in Plastic Surgery and Wound Healing Research at the University of Texas. Dr. Covington has been Certified Wound Specialist Physician by the American Board of Wound Management and a Wound Healing Society member.
