Dr. Gil Vega, MD was born and raised in Puerto Rico prior to moving to Orlando, FL at a young age. His passion for health, exercise and fitness led him to become a personal trainer during his undergrad years. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science prior to continuing his education at Florida International University, graduating with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Dr. Vega practiced as a Physical Therapist for almost 8 years before following his dreams of becoming a physician. After graduating medical school, he completed his Family Medicine residency at Advent Health Winter Park Family Medicine program in Winter Park, Florida. He is excited to continue to pursue his true passion in sports medicine at Halifax Health.
Outside of medicine, he is an avid fitness enthusiast who prides himself in his home gym. He also enjoys watching Florida Gator Football as well as spending time with his wife and daughter.
