Jessica Smith, MD graduated magna cum laude from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with a bachelor’s degree in science. A graduate with distinction from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., Dr. Smith completed an internship in general surgery at University of South Florida. and a second year in general surgery at George Washington University. She then went on to finish an internal medicine residency at George Washington University. Dr. Smith’s fellowship was in pulmonary and critical care medicine, also at George Washington University.
Dr. Smith is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. She is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Chest Physicians. Throughout her education and career she has been awarded numerous honors, has been active in various medical associations and has performed a number of community service endeavors. Dr. Smith has been an active medical researcher, presenter and has authored publications in her field of interest.
