Dr. Kari Stausmire was born and raised along the shores of Lake Erie near Toledo, Ohio. During college, she traveled to Madrid, Spain where she attended the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and taught English as a second language at a local elementary school. Upon returning, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toledo, majoring in Spanish language and literature. In the time since, she has worked as an 8th grade Spanish teacher and continues to substitute teach in a variety of subjects. Combining both her love of teaching and love of science, she earned her medical doctor degree from the University Of Toledo College Of Medicine. Within the broad scope of family medicine. Dr. Stausmire’s special interests include women and children’s health, obstetrics, and breastfeeding medicine. She has a passion for patient education, counseling, and working in underserved communities. In her free time, she enjoys figure skating, traveling, and spending time with her amazing husband and their two children.
