Born in Florida, Michael Young, grew up in a military family and was fortunate to travel around the country and Europe, ultimately returning to Florida, which he considers home. Dr. Young played NCAA Division II baseball for Columbia State University. He went on to earn a master’s degree in mental health counseling and worked as a drug addiction counselor for several years. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed his family medicine residency at Halifax Health - Family Medicine Residency Program.
Following residency, Dr. Young joined the Family Medicine Residency faculty at Halifax Health. Dr. Young has a passion for helping others and mentoring the generation of family physicians.
