Dr. Kim was born in Maryland, but he spent most of his early life in the beautiful state of Washington, enjoying fishing for salmon off the shores of Whidbey Island and going on trips to Mount Rainier and Mount Baker with his family. He graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois with a B.S. in biology, and then attended and graduated medical school at Wake Forest School of Medicine in North Carolina. Dr. Kim has a passion for learning about different cultures and has been part of medical mission trips to Tanzania, Haiti, and Jamaica. He also has a passion for mentoring and tutoring children. Since high school, he has shadowed and worked with many family physicians who inspired him to become a family physician. He loves family medicine because it allows him to care for people of all ages and to address a wide variety of medical conditions. He is excited to be joining the Halifax family to continue pursuing this goal. In his free time, you may find him fishing with his dad, playing Christian worship songs on his piano and guitar, playing board games, or simply spending time with his friends and family.
