Roynny Sanchez-Gil, MD

Roynny Sanchez-Gil, MD, is a general surgeon who specializes in endocrine surgery at UF Health Surgical Specialists - Medical Center of Deltona.

He earned his medical degree from Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, one of Venezuela's most prestigious universities, and completed a surgery residency and a fellowship in trauma surgery at Hospital Dr. Domingo Luciani through the Universidad Central de Venezuela.

After three years in practice, Dr. Sanchez-Gil moved to the United States and completed a second general surgery residency at Larkin Community Hospital, affiliated with Northeastern University in Miami. During that time, he developed a strong interest in endocrine surgery, including procedures for thyroid and parathyroid conditions, and later completed an endocrine surgery internship at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

Dr. Sanchez-Gil has received several honors, including the Award for Best Leader of Excellence in Health from the Global Healthcare Association for Health Excellence and the Honor to Merit Mention from the International Red Cross. He also served as administrative chief resident at Larkin Community Hospital.

He joined UF Health Surgical Specialists - Medical Center of Deltona in July 2025, with the goal of providing specialized, patient-centered surgical care to patients in Volusia County.

Dr. Sanchez is fluent in English and Spanish.
