Dr. Shanice Mullings, originally from Kingston, Jamaica, discovered her passion for medicine after suffering a concussion during a high school soccer game. She attended The University of the West Indies, Mona, on an academic and sports scholarship, balancing soccer and medical studies.
While in Jamaica, she briefly practiced primary care during the pandemic and volunteered as a team physician for high school games and national swim meets. She then pursued her residency at Community Health of South Florida in Miami, taking on leadership roles including Chief Resident, Social Media Chair, Resident Wellness Representative, and Procedure Clinic Champion.
Now, as a Sports Medicine Fellow at Halifax Health, Dr. Mullings is eager to expand access to sports medicine, believing in its power to bridge opportunity and poverty. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring global cuisines, and recreating cultural dishes in her kitchen.
