Yesenia Malave-Vazquez, MSN-FNP-C, RN, is a nurse practitioner with UF Health Urology at Halifax Health. Yesenia attended the University of Puerto Rico where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner at South University, Orlando Campus where she was on the Dean’s List.
During her training for her master’s degree, Yesenia worked in various areas including as a medical-surgical nurse where she earned the Nurse of Excellence “Rookie of the Year” Award. She also worked in critical care followed by clinical rotations through primary care, women’s health, gerontology, and pediatrics. During this rotation, Yesenia earned the “Outstanding Clinical Award Winner” demonstrating her strong capabilities to problem solve and offer critical thinking.
Yesenia sees patients with overactive bladder symptoms, UTIs, BPH, elevated PSA, and other common urological issues while also assisting the physicians with pre-op and post-op visits. She is passionate about delivering medical care to Spanish-speaking patients and overcoming language barriers.
