Port Orange resident Tami Collins is the recipient of the Joe Petrock Auxilian of the Month Award for June 2015.
A volunteer in the Therapy Dog Service, Collins and her dog, KC, visit patients in many areas of the hospital, including the Intensive Care Unit and the Emergency Department. Collins also volunteers without KC to assist with special projects when needed.
“When a request is made by staff or a family member to visit a specific patient, Tami and KC are often the first to reply, dropping everything to go,” says Linda Trader, president, Halifax Health – Auxiliary.
