About the Lohman Diabetes Center for Excellence

In 2020, a state-of-the-art medical resource for diabetes treatment was unveiled as the Lohman Diabetes Center of Excellence, made possible by a $4 million donation from Nancy and Lowell Lohman. Created to be a one-stop resource center for diabetes patients seeking access to world-class endocrinologists, on-site lab work, and educational and lifestyle coaching, this building was constructed to serve the growing needs of our community in an unprecedented way. The center is located on the fifth floor of Halifax Health’s Professional Building at 311 Clyde Morris Blvd., now officially renamed the Lohman Building. The American Diabetes Association recognizes our services as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support.

Services are tailored to each person’s needs whether they are newly diagnosed or have a history of diabetes. Diabetes classes, one-on-one counseling, meal planning individualized by a dietitian, pregnancy/gestational diabetes counseling, instructions on how to test blood sugar or how to inject insulin and a free support group are offered. To learn about diabetes education and the resources available, please call 386.425.2242 or 386.425.4829.
