114 Trauma Admissions at Halifax Health Throughout 2025 Daytona Beach Bike Week

Daytona Beach, FL (March 13, 2025) – Halifax Health saw a decline in trauma-related patient admissions during the 2025 Daytona Beach Bike Week, with 114 patients admitted compared to 180 last year. This marks the second consecutive year of reduced trauma admissions. While overall trauma admissions decreased, Bike Week-related patient admissions saw a slight increase, rising to 57 from 55 in 2024. Additionally, the number of motorcycle crashes during the eleven-day event dropped, with 73 crashes reported in 2025, down from 92 the previous year.

"Our trauma team demonstrated exceptional care and compassion," said Lindsay Duffy, Director of Nursing at Halifax Health – Emergency Department. "At Halifax Health we’re always prepared to respond, and Bike Week has become a major focus of the expert care that our community trusts," Duffy added.

Beyond motorcycle crashes, Halifax Health also treated ten supercross riders participating in the amateur track days at Daytona International Speedway.
