Charlena joined Halifax Health in 2012 as an internal auditor, after starting her career with five years in public accounting. At Halifax Health, she has excelled in numerous positions of increasing responsibility, including Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, Director of Accounting, and Director of Corporate Compliance & Compliance Officer. She has a rare depth and breadth of talent and skills, and anyone who has had the opportunity to work with her knows she’s a problem-solving wizard!
Charlena holds a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Central Florida, as well as a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified in Healthcare Compliance, with advanced expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Additionally, Charlena is a 2015 graduate of the Halifax Health Leadership Academy and a 2023 graduate of the Daytona Leadership program.
Charlena moved to Florida in 2004 and resides with her husband, Joe. Despite her impressive achievements, Charlena would much prefer you know and ask her about her five-year-old Labrador Retriever named Buddy.
