Matt Petkus oversees all surgical, respiratory therapy, laboratory, transplant, and cardiology services, as well as Halifax Health’s partnership with University Florida Health.
Matt began his career with Halifax Health in 1998 as the interventional radiology coordinator. In 2003, he was named the manager of cardiac services and was later promoted to director of the cardiology service line.
He also previously served as the clinical ancillary service line administrator where he was responsible for the strategic plan, operations, financial performance, quality and outcomes for the cardiovascular, pulmonary, laboratory, transplant, and imaging service lines. Additional responsibilities included leading the program to achieve Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification for AMI, CHF and CABG; developing a strategic partnership with University of Florida Health for heart and vascular surgery; and helping to create multiple marketing campaigns to promote services for chest pain, heart attack care, off-pump bypass surgery, and atrial fibrillation services.
Matt is a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Maine where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Technology. He completed a post-graduate interventional radiology/cardiology program at the University of Virginia and received a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix. He is also a graduate of the 2013 Leadership Daytona Class which is a program presented by the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce.
