Registered Oncology Dietitian

At Halifax Health – Cancer Center for Hope, we know a patient’s journey with cancer has multiple facets of treatment.

Our Registered Oncology Dietitian offers complete nutrition services to cancer patients. This helps patients cope with diet and appetite issues related to cancer and cancer treatments, and plays an integral part in our Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM).

Our complimentary Registered Oncology Dietitian:

› Is a cancer nutritional professional who works with patients and their families, specifically those identified as at risk for having nutritional challenges or special needs

› Knows nutritional status can be adversely affected by the disease process, including the symptoms and side effects of cancer and its treatment

› Works with patients, families, caregivers, physicians and other members of the oncology multidisciplinary team to help maintain optimal nutritional status throughout the continuum of care (prevention, treatment, survivorship, palliative care and hospice)
