Daytona Beach, FL – Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach recently hosted a ceremony in honor of Veterans Day, celebrating veterans’ service and dedication. The event brought together veterans, Halifax Health Team Members, and honored guests for a day of tribute and gratitude.
In his opening remarks, Halifax Health President and CEO Jeff Feasel welcomed attendees, saying, "Veterans, Halifax Health Team Members, and honored guests, it is my privilege to welcome you to this special gathering as we commemorate Veterans Day. Today, we not only honor our brave veterans but also celebrate the incredible spirit of service and dedication that runs through the heart of Halifax Health."
Feasel highlighted the impact of veterans within Halifax Health, noting that over 200 Team Members are veterans who have chosen to continue their service in healthcare, contributing to the well-being of the community. “We are indebted to them, not only for their military service but for their commitment to the well-being of our community,” he expressed.
The event included the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University ROTC Color Guard, a powerful rendition of the National Anthem by the Mainland High School Chorus, and a reflective prayer led by Chaplain Tim Hildreth. Guest speaker Travis Sargent, a retired United States Marine Corps Veteran, insurance executive, and current City Commissioner of Ormond Beach, shared his journey from Daytona State College to joining and serving in the US Marine Corps.
The ceremony concluded with Taps to honor fallen heroes, and veterans in attendance were invited to the front to be recognized. A luncheon followed in the France Tower Meeting Rooms, where Team Members and guests had the opportunity to extend their appreciation to the veterans. A special slideshow paid tribute to Halifax Health veterans, underscoring their dual commitment to military and healthcare service.
As Feasel stated in his closing remarks, "As we honor Veterans Day, let us reflect on the sacrifices made and the courage shown by our veterans. The freedom we enjoy is a direct result of their service and sacrifice. On behalf of Halifax Health and the entire community we serve, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to our veteran Team Members and to all veterans around the world."
This gathering showcased Halifax Health’s respect and gratitude for veterans and reinforced the healthcare provider’s dedication to supporting those who have served.
