Halifax Health Hospitals Earn Prestigious American Heart Association Stroke Care Certifications

Daytona Beach, FL - (August 12, 2024) Halifax Health is proud to announce that its hospitals have been honored by the American Heart Association (AHA) with several prestigious certifications for exceptional stroke care. These awards underscore Halifax Health's dedication to providing the highest quality, evidence-based care to the community.

Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach has earned the AHA's Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll designations.

• Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus: This award recognizes the hospital's consistent excellence in stroke care for stroke treatment over a two-year period.

• Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite: This designation highlights the hospital's success in reducing the time between a patient suffering a stroke arrival and the administration of clot-busting medication within 60 minutes.

• Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll: This award recognizes the hospital's effective treatment of patients suffering a stroke who also have Type 2 diabetes, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care.

Halifax Health - Medical Center of Port Orange have also been recognized with the Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus and Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite awards, as well as the Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. These accolades reflect the hospital’s commitment to adhering to the latest guidelines and delivering exceptional care to patients with stroke and diabetes.

Additionally, Halifax Health | UF Health - Medical Center of Deltona has received the Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Silver Plus award and the Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll designation.

• Stroke Silver Plus: This award is given to hospitals that show consistent adherence to AHA’s stroke care guidelines over a one-year period, marking significant progress toward achieving Gold Plus status.
