Daytona Beach, FL (November 7, 2023) – Halifax Health – Lohman Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology has partnered with the American Diabetes Association to host the Florida State of Diabetes Community Event and Expo on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2023 at the Daytona Beach News Journal Center. This special event is dedicated to education on topics important to people with diabetes and is FREE to the public.
In addition to the expo featuring all the topics which impact people with diabetes on a daily basis, the event will include a special salute to veterans at 11:00 am and all veterans are invited to attend this portion of the event. This special tribute is being organized by Nancy Lohman, daughter of a USAF Saber Jet F-86, then B-52 pilot who served in both Korea and in Vietnam. Nancy’s father was stationed in Guam in 1972, and was one of the many B-52 pilots involved in the bombing of Hanoi, Operation Linebacker II. He retired as a Lt. Colonel.
According to Lohman, “This day has always been extremely special to my family and me. Having gratitude for the women and men who served and continue to serve in our armed forces is something my father instilled in me. I was proud to organize these tributes in the cemetery business and now for our State of Diabetes conference.”
The event promises to be an inspiring and patriotic gathering, featuring a remarkable lineup of activities and performances. It is an opportunity for the community to come together and support veterans while also focusing on diabetes prevention and management.
