Halifax Health Physicians Dr. Zach Terwilliger and Dr. Stephen Viel Assume Leadership Roles in the Florida College of Emergency Physicians

Halifax Health is pleased to announce that the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) has appointed Dr. Zach Terwilliger and Dr. Stephen Viel to its Board of Directors for the 2023-2026 term.

Daytona Beach, [August 21, 2023] – Halifax Health is pleased to announce that the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) has appointed Dr. Zach Terwilliger and Dr. Stephen Viel to its Board of Directors for the 2023-2026 term. Both local emergency medicine physicians bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their roles, further solidifying Halifax Health’s commitment to excellence in emergency medicine.

Dr. Stephen Viel, already known for his leadership capabilities, shared his vision for the FCEP Leadership Academy, which he chairs. “Our Leadership Academy is designed to cultivate the next generation of physician leaders. Through mentorship, education, and hands-on experience, we aim to empower emerging leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of healthcare.”  Dr. Zach Terwilliger,  expressed his enthusiasm for his co-chair of the Leadership Academy position, stating, “I am honored to take on this responsibility alongside Dr. Viel. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of growth and innovation within the emergency medicine community, ultimately leading to enhanced patient care.”

Both Dr. Terwilliger and Dr. Viel are members of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), a testament to their dedication to advancing emergency medicine practices on a national level.

In addition to their leadership roles, both physicians are active practitioners at Halifax Health, the community’s health system, where they continue to serve their communities with the highest level of medical expertise and patient-centered care.
